The best pizza in America

The best pizza in America

Ladies and gentlemen, the debate has been settled.

The best pizza in America resides in the great city of Stamford, CT at an establishment called Colony Grill. Now, they do have plenty of pizza varieties to choose from and this is by no means is a case of any pizza you order will live up to the hype. You have been warned.

If you were to venture to Colony Grill, here are the toppings you get: Hot oil with extra cheese. Thank me later.

The extra cheese addition is one the regular pizza-goer wouldn’t know about because it’s not an option on the menu. But believe me when I tell you it is an absolute game-changer. Their standard pizza has substantially less cheese and does not come close to comparing to this gem.

The amount of flavor on this pizza is unlike anything I’ve ever had. The crust hits the spot in terms of crunchiness and the subtle kick from the hot oil is the perfect complement. Also, it’s way better if you eat it in the restaurant as opposed to takeout. Again, thank me later.

And with all due respect to the pizza capital of the world New Haven, CT, nothing that comes from there compares to this. That’s just the reality of life.

To everyone who has the great fortune of reading this, you’re welcome.

Grade: 10/10

FOOD REVIEW: The Lucas Sandwich

FOOD REVIEW: The Lucas Sandwich

Not too long ago, one of my co-workers who shall remain nameless told me there’s a deli around the corner from my apartment that has a “Lucas Sandwich”.  Now, my first reaction to this was my co-worker was messing with me because that’s what co-workers do, especially this one.  He’s a real piece of work.

FOOD REVIEW: Sally’s Apizza (New Haven)

FOOD REVIEW: Sally’s Apizza (New Haven)

It’s been on my list since I moved to Stamford, Connecticut in September: Venture to the pizza capital of the world, New Haven, and see what all the fuss is about.  Inspired by Dave Portnoy’s 9.2 rating (his highest ever), I made my way to the famous Sally’s Apizza (Why they have an “A” in front of pizza just feels like a completely unnecessary flex on their part) on Wooster St. for the first time.
